Right from
the beginning you will be welcomed into a friendly
environment that is the ideal setting to study and to make
friends with students from all over the world.
The boarding house for girls, boys and young adults (15
years and older)
compliments the courses that are being taught at the school.
Any student of the Lemania
Group of Schools may be a boarder.
Whether you are a university, gymnasium, or high school student,
you will find the structure most appropriate with regard to your
expectations and needs.
The
Philosophy
of the Lemania College Boarding House
Each student
manifests individual characteristics with regard to
motivation, capability, perception of educational challenges and
the capacity to concentrate.
Life at the
Boarding House is structured in a manner that it enhances
the individual learning process, thus creating an ideal educational
environment.
The
philosophy of our Boarding House aims to guide students
| to realise their capabilities and build them into real skills. | |
| to find the best possible educational path. | |
| to
identify and apply the learning techniques that work best for each student. |
|
| to study independently. | |
| to cultivate a positive self-esteem. | |
| to
create an atmosphere of mutual respect for student's interaction with classmates and professors. |
|
Which
means that we lead a student to success.
Our
spacious and comfortable rooms have a
breathtaking view of the Lake of Geneva,
the Alps and of the Jura region.
Single and double rooms are available.
The rooms are
serviced daily. We offer a laundry service
for bed linen and personal clothes.
Meals: four
well-balanced meals per day. Students regularly meet
with the chief cook to plan menus. The management ensures that
students' and parents' dietary requirements (kosher, vegetarian,
etc.)
are respected.
Our students
pursue numerous sporting activities, always with safe
and secure facilities and under the guidance of experienced staff.
Sports include:
tennis, squash, fitness training and body-building,
swimming, water skiing, wind surfing, horseback riding, cycling,
winter
sports, etc. In winter we organise skiing weekends in some of
the most
famous skiing resorts such as Zermatt, Gstaad, Verbier and Crans
Montana.
The City of
Lausanne is home to galleries, museums, and many theatres
as well as ballet and music companies. They combine to create
a rich
cultural calendar, and our students visit these places and the
performances to heighten their awareness and enlarge their cultural
horizons.
Regularly organised
excursions, especially during the summer courses,
offer the boarders many opportunities to discover the attractions
of the
Lake of Geneva region.
The school
makes available a list of housing alternatives situated in and
around Lausanne, such as studio appartments and pensions.
There are
also families which house students on a medium and long-term basis.
The addresses are communicated upon request. The school furnishes
the
names of the establishments and it is up to the students to follow
through. In certain cases, however, the school may directly contact
the
services concerned.
